Withyham Flat Top Entrance Gates from Crestala are for those who want the security of a pair of heavy gates. They look good on any driveway, are robust, and offer excellent value for money. The timber used is slow-growing Scandinavian redwood that is pressure-treated to provide good protection against rot and insect attacks.

The minimum width for a pair is 1.8m.

Withyham flat-top gates are heavy and need to be supported by solid posts or brick piers. If you have existing posts, please check them for security before fitting your new gates.

Gate fittings for all the different sizes of Hartfield gates are available.
We recommend fitting adjustable hinge sets. This enables the gates to be reset to accommodate seasonal variations. If you are unsure which type or size of hinge you need for your gates, please ask one of our team members, who will advise you.

For security, we suggest using a keyed long throw lock. Unlike normal keyed locks, the long bolt section allows for the gate's natural shrinking and expansion movement without becoming unlatched.

Fitting a drop bolt to each leaf of the pair, helps to keep the gates in line and can also hold the gates open.

All Withyham gates supplied by Crestala need to be stored, treated and cared for properly before and after hanging. Please, read the recommendations on our "Crestala Gate Care Information" Helpsheet for more detailed instructions.

All treated softwood gates are susceptible to natural movement or shaking (cracks in the timber) as the wood expands and contracts during the normal weathering process. This is not considered to be a defect unless it is very severe.
