A pair of Iroko Henfield Flat Top Entrance Gates

Tax included.

The Henfield Flat Top is a classic entrance gate with a sturdy frame and thick tongue and groove boarding. Our Henfield entrance gate is made by skilled gate makers using Iroko timber from West Africa, which has been harvested responsibly. Iroko is a very durable wood, resistant to rot and insect attack. With 70mm thick vertical stiles, a 40mm thick frame in between and covered in 19mm thick tongue and groove boards, these gates are made to be stylish and robust. All Henfield entrance gates have a flush heavy bottom rail suitable for automation.

Henfield flat top entrance gates are priced PER PAIR. Each pair is individually priced, and there are no standard sizes.

The colour of the timber used to make these gates may vary. The framework configuration may vary from that shown. All Henfield Iroko gates are made to order.

How to Use

Henfield gates made from Iroko must be stored and cared for properly before hanging. For more detailed instructions, please read the recommendations on our “Crestala Gate Care Information” sheet.

If the gates are not to be fitted immediately, they must be kept out of direct sunlight, stored flat or stood up against a wall with both stiles touching the wall evenly.

Fittings

We have a comprehensive range of gate fittings available to complement your gates.

Posts

Whether you prefer to complement your gates with treated softwood posts or hardwood posts, our team can advise you on suitability.

Recommended Aftercare

Hardwood Iroko can be left untreated. It will eventually change to a silver-grey colour.

If you wish to preserve the timber's more natural colour and help keep your gate in good condition, treat it twice a year with good quality UV wood oil. Other wood oils, such as Teak oil, can also help. Use a lint-free cloth or natural bristle brush to apply the oil evenly all over the gate, following the grain. Carefully treat all surfaces with your chosen oil, particularly the bottom, all end grain, and any holes, etc., for gate hardware.

Cheap fence and shed treatments are NOT suitable for treating Henfield gates.

The gates should be checked at least twice annually and reoiled if necessary. Put a drop of water on the gate surface. If it beads into a droplet, then the gate is fine. If the water soaks in or spreads out, then the gate requires oiling.

All wooden gates are susceptible to natural
movement or shaking (cracks in the timber) as the wood expands and contracts during the normal weathering process. This is not considered a defect unless it is very severe.
