Product Specifications
Materials:All Holtye tongue-and-groove gates manufactured by Crestala are robust yet offer excellent value for money. The timber used is pressure-treated, joinery-grade, slow-growing Scandinavian redwood. The treatment provides good protection against rot and insect attacks.
How to Use

We recommend using Adjustable hooks and rides with Holtye gates. This allows some of the seasonal movement to be adjusted out if required.

Fitting gates is not always straightforward or easy. If you are in any doubt, ask a professional to fit it for you.

Measuring & Quantity Calculations

If you are unsure about measuring for a gate, please read our help sheet, Measuring for new side or entrance gates, which provides guidance on the measuring process, or alternatively speak to a member of our Sales Team.

Installation Tips

We can supply all the fittings you need to hang and secure your new Holtye gate. We recommend fitting adjustable hinges to alleviate any seasonal gate movement.

A keyed Long Throw Lock is good for combining security with accessibility.
However, fitting Brenton Bolts at the top and bottom of the gate on the inside will secure the gate, help keep it in line, and reduce twisting, but it can only be opened from the inside.

Health & Safety
Health & Safety:

Wear gloves and safety glasses when handling the gate due to potential splinters.

Be aware of the weight of the gate and ensure you have proper support when lifting or installing it.

Recommended Aftercare

Refer to Crestala's "Gate Care Information" sheet for detailed storage, treatment, and care instructions.

Following these recommendations will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Holtye gate.

Holtye-treated softwood gates, like all treated gates, are susceptible to natural movement or shaking (cracks in the timber) as the wood expands and contracts during the normal weathering process. This is not considered a defect unless it is very severe.
