Gravel Board for Fencing or General Use

£4.54
Tax included.

Although Gravel Boards are generally associated with Closeboard or Panel fencing, they can be used with most other types of fencing if needed. For example, gravel boards can also be used as the primary material to make up a robust and solid fence (see photo).

The boards are pressure-treated and suitable for many other tasks around the garden besides fencing, such as path edging, small raised beds or flooring for sheds.

How to Use

Gravel boards are normally attached using galvanised nails or external wood screws.

Gravel boards for closeboard are usually 150mm (6″) high and 22mm thick and are either nailed or screwed to wooden cleats positioned on posts at each end and in the centre to the stump.

Check out our Closeboard Materials and Information Helpsheet if you need help or more information about using gravel board as part of your Closeboard Fencing. Alternatively, contact our Team, who will be happy to help you

Check out our Palisade Materials help pages for more information on using gravel boards with Palisade (picket) fencing.

Installation Tips

When fixing gravel boards to wooden cleats, it is better to pre-drill and screw rather than nail as the cleats can split when nailed.

Rotproof, Composite gravel boards and Concrete Gravel Boards are also available for closeboard fencing or panel fencing.
