The Counter rail supports capping rails or trellis panels that can be fitted over closeboard or Palisade fencing. It is also very popular for use as part of other DIY projects, like shed building.

How to Use

There are two sizes of counter rail used for closeboard fencing: 50mm and 75mm.

  • 50mm(2") x 32mm (1.25") is attached by skew nailing to the post with a 75mm nail and then with 50mm nails through every 3rd or 4th Feather Edge Board.
  • 75mm(3") x 32mm (1.25") is located into an extra mortise in the post and then fixed with 50mm nails through every 3rd or 4th Feather Edge Board. The additional mortise for this size counter rail will be added to your posts when your order is processed.
