Closeboard Fencing ( sometimes referred to as Shiplap or Featheredge fencing) is a versatile and fairly robust solid fence suitable for Domestic and Commercial Fencing purposes. If assembled correctly Closeboard fencing can be aesthetically pleasing & last well. It is comparatively easy to construct and repair. This type of fencing is very good for use on sloping ground.

Closeboard Fencing is supplied for use with either Wooden Treated Softwood mortised Posts or Concrete mortised Posts.

2 x Cleats are used to fix a Gravel Board to Posts
Centre Stumps help to keep the Gravel Board in line with the Feather Edge & also provide some support to the middle of the bay.
The Counter Rail is attached to the top of the Feather Edge Boards to provide a mounting for Capping Rail or Trellis.
It is attached by nailing through the Feather Edge Boards or Posts can also be mortised for 75mm Counter Rail if stated at time of ordering.
Plates or Half posts as they are sometimes called are used instead of an End Post where the fence run finishes at a wall or on an existing post.
For a Weather on the top of the Plate : add £0.90
A 3 metre bay of Close board consists of one mortised post & all the wooden materials needed for assembly on site into a closeboard fence.
At the end of the required number of bays an extra end post will be required. ( Post mix, nails etc are extra to the prices below )
