Like a Post Rammer, a Fencing Maul is used to knock in round fence posts. It is a special type of large hammer with a large flat surface for striking the top of fence posts. Our Mauls have fibreglass handles that help absorb the shock and vibrations generated by striking the fence posts. A maul should be used in preference to a sledgehammer for knocking in posts.

How to Use

Hit the top of the post with one of the flats on the maul head. To reduce the risk of splitting the post top, try to hit the post with the flat edge of the maul parallel to the post top.
Installation Tips

Tip - If you have to use a sledgehammer, use the flat side of the head to strike the posts. The normal striking face of a sledgehammer is slightly curved and this causes the top of the post to split.
