Field Gate Hunting Auto Catch

• Suitable for use with wooden field gates hung on wooden posts or brick/concrete piers.
• Field gate slam catch with an extended operating lever to aid opening from horseback.
• This is for use with wooden gates hanging and closing onto the back of wooden posts or brick/concrete piers.

• Requires purchase of a separate striker pin.
• Animal-friendly “D” loop striker available for use with cattle and horses.

These hunting auto catches for field gates can be fitted to wooden field gates that hang and close onto the back of wooden gate posts or brick pillars.

There is a choice of strikers. A standard offset pin or a D-loop.
The animal-friendly “D” loop striker is recommended for fields containing horses or cattle.

Field gate hunting auto catches can be locked with a padlock to prevent the catch from being opened.

Please note:

All holes must be correctly positioned before drilling. Check carefully before drilling.

Gates cannot normally be returned once drilled or marked in any way.

A 12mm drill bit for wood at least 100 long is required to drill the hole for attaching the striker through the gate shutting stile.

A suitable drill bit for wood or masonry (depending on what type of posts/pillars and masonry plug size etc.) to drill holes for the coach screws which attach the catch to the post/pillar.

A selection of spanners/adjustable wrenches.
As the nut, bolt and coach screw sizes can vary, please check the spanner and drill sizes required when you receive your set.

We recommend using the D-loop striker.

The animal-friendly D-loop can be welded to metal field gates for use with the Hunting Auto catch.

Oil the moving parts regularly.
