What are Closeboard Panels and Their Benefits

A closeboard panel is a fully framed fence designed for strength, durability, and privacy. It comprises overlapping feather-edge boards fixed to a sturdy frame, typically supported by wooden or concrete posts for stability. Closeboard panels are a popular choice for residential gardens, boundaries, and properties that need a strong but traditional fencing style in a panel format.

Our closeboard panels are made from pressure-treated timber and are suitable for use with wooden, concrete slotted and metal DuraPosts. They come in 5 different heights: 1.8m, 1.65m, 1.5m, 1.2m and 0.9m and are 1.83m (6ft) wide.

There are many benefits to our closeboard panels, and these include:

Strength and Durability

The panel's overlapping design provides structural integrity, making it more resistant to strong winds and harsh weather conditions. When installed properly, it can last many years, making it ideal for long-term fencing solutions. Moreover, the pressure-treated timber protects against rot, decay, and insect infestation, helping to extend the life of your fence.

Customisable Heights

Our premium Crestala Closeboard panels come in standard heights but can also be made in special heights and widths (maximum 1.83m x 1,83m), allowing you to choose the perfect size for your specific requirements.

Privacy and Security

The construction of the closeboard panels ensures a high level of privacy, preventing unwanted views into your property. Furthermore, these sturdy panels enhance your property's security.

Closeboard Panel Installation Tips

  • Use strong posts: To maximise durability, you should use either metal DuraPost or concrete posts.

  • Apply protective treatment to your panels: Although the timber is pre-treated, adding an extra treatment can keep your fence looking good for longer.

  • Secure the panels properly: Use external quality wood screws to prevent movement when attaching the panels to wooden or DuraPosts.
